SUMMARY:Lobur, Turkana Expedition
DESCRIPTION:12th of December\nDay 1.\nWe drive from Nairobi to Marigat. Driving down into the Great valley and passing Lake Baringo.\nWe spend the night at Hope Cottages. We shall not camp, but take rooms, so that we can have an early start the next day.\n13th of December\nDay 2\nWe leave early from marigat heading towards the Turkwell Gorge.\nOn route will drive to Kapedo where we will explore the Kapedo hot springs. After which we head north for the Turkwell gorge through the West Pokot Mountains.\nWe will be spending the night at the KVDA camp.\n14th of December\nDay 3\nWe depart from Turkwell, passing by the Turkwell Gorge and dam, and make our way towards Lodwar through the Nasalot National Reserve.\nOur destination for the day is Acacia accommodations in Lodwar.\n15th of December\nDay 4\nWe depart from Lodwar heading towards Lobur. This will be a day of off-road driving going past places like the Kalokol fish market and Nariakotome prehistoric graves as we drive up the coast of lake turkana.\nIn Lobur will be staying at the Lobur Catholic Mission.\n16th of December\nDay 5\nWe spend the day around Lobur. First dropping off the medical supplies, then hitting the off-road tracks around the area to explore places like the edge of the Illemi Triangle and the Gaterongeroi Mountains. We then return to the Catholic Mission and spend a second night\n17th of December\nDay 6\nWe leave Lobur and head back to Lodwar via Kaeris, taking the off-road tracks that will take us through Lolomat hills, Milima Tatu and the Lodwar Cone. Spending the night again at Acacia Accommodations.\n18th of December\nDay 7\nWe leave Lodwar and head towards Uganda. Please make sure that you have all necessary documentation for the border crossing. these includes yellow fever cards, vehicle log books, passports, COMESA insurance etc.\nOnce in Uganda we will head towards Moroto passing Mount Moroto forest. We will then spend the night in or around Moroto to town.\n19th of December\nDay 8\nWe leave Moroto and head towards Kapchorwa. Driving past Pian Upe wildlife reserve and Mount Kadam as we head towards Mount Elgon. We will spend the night in Sipi at Moses campsite, where we will hopefully have wonderful views of Sipi falls and get the chance to explore the area.\n20th of December\nDay 9\nWe live Sipi and then drive past Mount Elgon heading back into Kenya.
